“The Conversation” Cast: Gene Hackman, John Cazale, Frederic Forrest.Presented by Dr. Caitlin McGrath as part of our Cinema Classics lecture series. Surveillance expert Harry Caul (Gene Hackman) is hired by a mysterious client’s brusque aide (Harrison Ford) to tail a young couple, Mark (Frederic Forrest) and Ann (Cindy Williams). Tracking the pair through San Francisco’s Union Square, Caul and his associate Stan (John Cazale) manage to record a cryptic conversation between them. Tormented by memories of a previous case that ended badly, Caul becomes obsessed with the resulting tape, trying to determine if the couple are in danger.

“Chevalier” – Inspired by the incredible true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Bologne (Kelvin Harrison Jr. in a tour de force performance) rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with an ill-fated love affair and a falling out with Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton) and her court.

“Air” Cast: Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Jason Bateman, Viola Davis. AIR reveals the unbelievable game-changing partnership between a then-rookie Michael Jordan and Nike’s fledgling basketball division which revolutionized the world of sports and contemporary culture with the Air Jordan brand. This moving story follows the career-defining gamble of an unconventional team with everything on the line, the uncompromising vision of a mother who knows the worth of her son’s immense talent, and the basketball phenom who would become the greatest of all time.

“Mafia MammaCast: Toni Collette, Monica Bellucci, Guilio Corso, Eduardo Scarpetta. While seeing to her long estranged (and now deceased) grandfather’s affairs in Italy, Collette, a mild mannered suburban mom, unexpectedly inherits his mafia empire and finds herself stuck in the middle of a deadly mob war. Guided by the firm’s trusted consigliere (Monica Bellucci), she hilariously defies everyone’s expectations, including her own, as the new head of the family business.

Tempus FugitTempus Fugit means “time flies” in Latin.  For the four members of the band, music is a passion and not a vocation.  We came together with a common conviction that life is short and a feeling of urgency to create and perform original music within the jazz idiom.  Most of our repertoire consists of tunes composed by members of the band.  We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
