Writer, Photographer and Artist Theresa Rideout
Theresa is a nonfiction science writer by training. She has written for National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, SciShow, and the National Institutes of Health, among others, usually focused on biology, medicine, and the history of science.
Her interest in the natural world extends to her creative work. She is a professional wildlife photographer, and the animals of Greenbelt Lake are her favorite subjects. You might find her sitting at the end of the peninsula at sunrise, waiting to spot a family of wood ducks or a great blue heron in flight. She is also studying botanical illustration through Cornell University's Horticulture Distance Learning Program and writing a science fiction novel.
Theresa is a member of the Montgomery Art Association, Hyattsville Community Arts Alliance, and the Bowie-Crofton Camera Club. Check out her portfolio and print shop online at https://www.theresarideout.com/. She's also on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/theresakrideout/.
