O’Malley Sings in Greenbelt and Urges us to Vote!

posted in: Government

Halloween Night was great fun at the New Deal Cafe, with Governor Martin O’Malley and State Senator Paul Pinsky stopping by to urge us to vote.  O’Malley had scheduled 30 minutes for the new Deal but was having such a good time, he stayed 3 hours and performed 3 songs.  New Deal music-booker Amethyst Dwyer declared on Facebook, “He was good!”

In introducing the governor, Pinsky reminded us of O’Malley’s impressive record on issues that progressives care about-  gun control, marriage equality, passing the Dream Act here in Maryland, education (#1 in the U.S.), wind power and a moratorium on fracking.  With the election surprisingly close, we can’t just sleep in on Election Day.

Michael Hartman asked me to take a photo of him – in his anti-fracking T-shirt, of course – with the governor.
