Halloween Night was great fun at the New Deal Cafe, with Governor Martin O’Malley and State Senator Paul Pinsky stopping by to urge us to vote. Â O’Malley had scheduled 30 minutes for the new Deal but was having such a good time, he stayed 3 hours and performed 3 songs. Â New Deal music-booker Amethyst Dwyer declared on Facebook, “He was good!”
In introducing the governor, Pinsky reminded us of O’Malley’s impressive record on issues that progressives care about- Â gun control, marriage equality, passing the Dream Act here in Maryland, education (#1 in the U.S.), wind power and a moratorium on fracking. Â With the election surprisingly close, we can’t just sleep in on Election Day.
Michael Hartman asked me to take a photo of him – in his anti-fracking T-shirt, of course – with the governor.

This is great! Thanks Susan for sharing for those of us that couldn’t be there.
