What a surprise to receive my Old Greenbelt Theatre membership card, shown above.
It’s the exact same watercolor that’s been hanging on my wall for decades. They’re displayed with three other scenes I chose because I love them: the Takoma Park Farmers Market, the Uptown Theater, and the Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo.
I bought them years ago at a street fair from colorist Enid Romanek, who recently moved from Takoma Park to Florida. Enid offers a whole collection of theaters, along with many other local subjects.
So look what you can now buy at the Greengbelt Theatre – prints and cards of the very same now-iconic watercolor! Prints are $22, cards $13.
More about Membership
In addition to the prettiest membership card in my wallet, Friends of Greenbelt Theatre membership includes these benefits. And there’s one more not listed there – invitation to Special Member Events, like the July 3th showing of Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic with Waylon Jennings, Leon Russell, and a few naked fans. It was fun!
