Enjoy spring and fellow Greenbelters in the spacious and beautiful lakeside garden of Mary Lou Williamson from 10 to 4 on Sunday, April 25 (using our rain date, since Saturday’s forecast isn’t promising). The address is 38 Lakeside Drive.
Covid precautions will be in place, of course. Guests are asked to wear masks whenever possible and stay at least 6 feet apart. The event will be outdoors at all times (with one easily accessible bathroom available.) Refreshments will be covid safe. And to keep attendance spread out over the six hours of the party, guests whose last names start with A-H are asked to come from 10 to noon; I-P noon to 2; and Q-Z 2 to 4. No RSVP is required.
The party is being planned and hosted by the Old Greenbelters Gardening Boosters, of which Mary Lou is a member. It’s an informal group that plans events and resources to help Greenbelters garden. In 2020 the Boosters hired a pruning expert to instruct Greenbelters in the correct pruning of our famous but difficult-to-manage hedges. Also, in lieu of in-person garden tours the Boosters created nine video tours of outstanding Greenbelt gardens. Greenbelt gardeners interested in joining the Boosters can contact me at gardenersusan@gmail.com.
